Our Monthly Classwork Schedule
Magnificent Math-We will be working on three different skills this month
1) Making groups of ten to count to 30.
2) Copying and extending number patterns, 1, 2, 3…
3) Creating picture graphs and organizing data.
Science- We will take part in several fun activities using our five senses to explore how observing and predicting things works. What is a scientist? We will discover what a scientist does, what they look like, sound like and act like.
Spelling- This month the spelling words are short with a focus on the letter “I”.
1) Lip 4) Fin
2) Pin 5) Pit
3) Kin 6) Kit
Parents, please study these words with your child. Practicing to spell the word pit will help spell hit, bit, and fit. These types of fun spelling tricks will help on the test.
Writing Workshop- This month we will draw pictures that are close to our hearts, like playing with pets or swimming at the beach. We will then use these drawing to help tell the stories behind our art work.
Readers Corner- Each child will be assigned a book for the month. They will be individually instructed on how we read to ourselves and aloud. We will take part in activities focused around the fun and importance of reading.
